Globalization increased competition to a level where it is discouraging to try

The human world is flatter than ever before.

Globalization and internet made the entire globe a highly competitive marketplace. The world feels like too big of a place to make meaningful individual contributions. This gives room for doubt in the lines of “If there was some secret out there to be found, wouldn’t one of all the smart, creative, and talented people in the world have found it already?”. This can discourage a lot of people from even trying to do something.

This, in combination with the fact that Globalization might be undermining innovation through increased need for cooperation, make innovation today hard.
